A fresh wave of speculation has started around Prabhas’ highly anticipated period war drama Fauzi after two Telugu films reportedly began targeting the same December 3, 2026 release slot. While the makers have not announced any change officially, industry buzz suggests the film may not arrive on its originally planned release date.
Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, Fauzi stars Prabhas in the lead alongside Iman Esmail as the female lead. Veteran actors Mithun Chakraborty, Jaya Prada, and Anupam Kher are also part of the ensemble cast. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film is mounted on a grand scale as a pre-Independence period action drama, with music composed by Vishal Chandrasekhar.
The latest talk gained momentum after reports emerged that Naga Chaitanya’s Vrusha Karma is eyeing December 3, 2026, while Dulquer Salmaan and Pooja Hegde’s Sri Sri, directed by Ravi Nelakuditi and produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri, is looking at December 4, 2026. This has raised questions about whether Fauzi has quietly vacated its release window.
According to ongoing industry rumours, Fauzi shoot will be completed after 100+ days of shoot and extensive post-production work are still pending. Given the film’s large-scale war backdrop, the makers are said to be prioritising VFX, sound design, DI, and other technical finishing works rather than rushing the release.
Another rumour doing the rounds is that the makers are considering March 27, 2027 as an alternative release date, coinciding with the slot previously associated with Prabhas’ Spirit. However, there is no official confirmation on this date, and it remains purely speculative for now.
