Starring Pradeep Ranganathan and Mamitha Baiju, the youthful romantic drama emerged as a commercial success in both Tamil and Telugu despite receiving mixed reviews from a section of the audience.
Director Keerthiswaran recently disclosed that he shared a fresh idea with Pradeep, and the actor reportedly loved the concept. According to the director, the new storyline carries the same emotional spirit as Dude and could serve as a continuation of the original narrative if everything falls into place.

He said, “Recently when I was taking with Pradeep Ranganathan, I’ve throwed an Idea and he liked it very much. That Idea has a spirit of Dude. If it works out, then we can make it as dude 2 – Continuation of Dude.”
