Jailer 2 is gearing up for a grand worldwide release on October 15, with early morning shows expected to begin in the Telugu states as well. While reports suggest that the first show in Karnataka could start as early as 6 AM, Telugu shows are likely to commence from around 7 AM.
Given the massive following of Superstar Rajinikanth and the success of the first instalment, expectations are naturally high for the sequel. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Jailer 2 brings back Rajinikanth as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian and features an impressive ensemble cast including Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Jackie Shroff, Vidya Balan, SJ Suryah, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Mirnaa and others.
Anirudh Ravichander returns as the music composer. Despite the star power and scale, the trailer has not created the kind of explosive buzz expected from a sequel to Jailer. While it offers action, humour and several big names, some reactions suggest that it may have revealed too much while failing to deliver a defining promotional moment that could match the frenzy surrounding the first film.
With the release just around the corner, the makers are looking to build momentum through their final promotional activities. Rajinikanth’s special interview is scheduled to be aired this Sunday, giving fans another major reason to look forward to the film ahead of its theatrical arrival.
