Naga Shaurya is among the young Telugu heroes who once appeared to have a promising market but are now going through a difficult phase. After making a strong impression with films such as Oohalu Gusagusalade, Jyo Achyutananda and Chalo, the actor struggled to maintain momentum, with Krishna Vrinda Vihari, Phalana Abbayi Phalana Ammayi and Rangabali failing to revive his career. His last film, Bad Boy Karthik, finally arrived on April 17, 2026 after a long delay, with Zee Studios acquiring both its theatrical and non-theatrical rights. The film did not provide the comeback he was looking for, and there is still little clarity about Shaurya’s immediate career plans. Although a project titled Police Vari Hecharika has been associated with him, there has been no significant momentum around it. With Ira Creations also remaining largely inactive, Shaurya’s prolonged silence has become noticeable in industry circles.
Kartikeya Gummakonda is another striking example. RX 100 turned him into a youth sensation, and he subsequently attempted different kinds of roles, including the antagonist in Nani’s Gang Leader and a lead in Bhaje Vaayu Vegam. But after Bhaje Vaayu Vegam in 2024, there has been virtually no major update on a new project. Reports in 2025 suggested that Kartikeya had taken a break after marriage and was concentrating on his family business, although the actor has not publicly announced that he is quitting cinema.
Panja Vaisshnav Tej is in a somewhat similar situation, though he now appears to be preparing a comeback. After the success of Uppena, the actor went through three consecutive disappointments with Konda Polam, Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga and Aadikeshava. Reports in July 2026 said he had brought director Srikanth Addala on board for a new project, with Vaisshnav reportedly looking for a strong script to rebuild his career.
Allu Sirish has also remained away from the big screen for an unusually long period. His last release was Buddy in 2024, while there has been no officially announced follow-up project, he also got married in March 2026, making his personal life another recent focus.
There are several more actors whose careers have entered a prolonged period of uncertainty. Nandamuri Chaitanya Krishna, who returned to films after a two-decade gap with Breathe in 2023, has not had another significant theatrical release since then, and his proposed projects have not translated into visible progress.
Rana Daggunati brother Abhiram Daggubati, who made his debut with Teja’s Ahimsa in 2023, has likewise been missing from the Telugu screen after the film’s lukewarm response, with no clearly established follow-up gaining traction.
Actor Sushanth, meanwhile, is an interesting case: after Bholaa Shankar in 2023, he stayed away from lead roles for a considerable period but announced his tenth film, SA10, in March 2025, with Prithviraj Chitteti directing.
