In recent years, Tirupati has emerged as one of the defining backdrops in Telugu cinema, with filmmakers increasingly setting stories in and around the Rayalaseema region. Blockbusters like the Pushpa franchise paved the way by showcasing the area’s rugged landscape and rooted storytelling, while newer films such as Maa Inti Bangaaram, Lenin, and Rao Bahadur have continued the trend with narratives built around family, action, politics, and emotion.

Rather than serving as just a location, Tirupati and its surrounding region have become an integral part of the identity of these films. The trend has extended beyond the screen into film promotions. It has become increasingly common for actors, directors, and producers to visit the Tirumala temple for darshan before their film’s release, seeking blessings for a successful theatrical run.

Ahead of Maa Inti Bangaaram, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Raj Nidimoru, and director BV Nandini Reddy visited Tirumala, while the team of Lenin, including Akhil Akkineni and producer Nagarjuna, also offered prayers before release. These visits have become a widely followed part of Telugu cinema’s promotional culture. Tirupati has also become a preferred destination for grand promotional events. As more Telugu films embrace authentic regional settings, Tirupati has evolved into more than just a cinematic backdrop. It has become a cultural hub where storytelling, spirituality, and film promotion intersect.

From the Pushpa franchise to Maa Inti Bangaaram, Lenin, Nagabandham, and Rao Bahadur, the region continues to inspire filmmakers.
