However, shortly after the special launch event, unofficial recordings of the trailer began circulating on social media.
Clips from the trailer of Ramayana, which was showcased at the grand launch event in Delhi, have surfaced on social media ahead of its official release. Several attendees and influencers allegedly recorded portions of the presentation on their phones and shared the footage online, leading to the trailer being leaked in parts.
The incident has disappointed many cinema lovers, who were hoping to experience the trailer officially. Coming after the mixed reactions to the teaser, the leak has sparked fresh discussions around the film and added to the challenges facing the makers ahead of the trailer’s official launch on YouTube.
Similar incidents have happened with the film before, including leaked set photos and purported footage that went viral during production, prompting the makers to enforce stricter security measures on set. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra in association with Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, Ramayana is planned as a two-part epic. The cast includes Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman. The film features music by A. R. Rahman and background score by Hans Zimmer, with cutting-edge visual effects from DNEG.
Following its grand launch in New Delhi, the official trailer is scheduled for worldwide digital release on July 24, while Ramayana: Part 1 is slated to release during Diwali 2026, followed by Part 2 in Diwali 2027.
