For nearly two years, Trivikram Srinivas’ ambitious mythological epic has remained one of Telugu cinema’s most talked-about projects God of War. The film was initially developed with Allu Arjun in mind after the success of their previous collaborations.
However, as Allu Arjun’s schedule evolved with other pan-India commitments, including Atlee’s project, the long-awaited collaboration was eventually shelved. Industry reports later revealed that the script had found a new leading man in NTR, marking a major shift for one of the industry’s biggest projects.
Trivikram reportedly reworked the project as a grand mythological spectacle centered on Lord Murugan (Kartikeya), with Jr NTR emerging as the ideal choice to portray the powerful deity. Since then, speculation surrounding the film has only intensified, with producer Naga Vamsi dropping cryptic hints.
Now, the long wait is finally coming to an end. Coinciding with Sashti, the sacred day dedicated to Lord Kartikeya, the makers are set to officially unveil the project. While today’s announcement is expected to focus primarily on the film’s title, genre, lead actor, director, production houses, and possibly the music director, fans can expect a thematic poster rather than a full-fledged glimpse that makers planned previously.
With mythology, epic battles, divine powers, family emotions, and spiritual symbolism forming the core of the narrative, the official launch marks the beginning of what promises to be one of the most ambitious Indian films in recent years.
