The sequel to the blockbuster sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD is already generating massive buzz among movie lovers. After the first film impressed audiences with its unique blend of mythology and futuristic storytelling and collected more than 1000 crores at box office, the director Nag Ashwin is currently shooting for the next chapter with Prabhas returning in the lead role.
The director already completed 2 schedules with focussing on finishing other key actors like Kamal Haasan and Amitabh Bachchan portions soon. Speculation surrounding the film’s cast has become a major talking point among fans. Following reports that Deepika Padukone will not return for the sequel, several names have surfaced as possible additions to the project.
Recent industry buzz suggests that Alia Bhatt has joined the cast in a key role. While the makers have not officially confirmed the news, reports claim that the actress has already completed a brief shooting schedule in Hyderabad and will play an important character in the story. However, sources indicate that Alia Bhatt is not being considered for the role of SUM-80, which was played by Deepika Padukone in the first installment.
Separate reports suggest that Sai Pallavi is being considered for that character, although the production team has stated that no final decision has been announced yet. Santosh Narayanan is scoring the music. Disha Patani will be reprising her role.
