Bethlehem Kudumba Unit arrived in Telugu with impressive pre-release hype following its blockbuster run in Malayalam. The heartwarming romantic family entertainer, directed by Girish A.D., stars Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju in the lead roles, with Sangeeth Prathap, Vinay Forrt, Suresh Krishna, Shyam Mohan.
The film is backed Fahadh Faasil under Bhavana Studios banner. The film features music by Vishnu Vijay. Despite receiving a limited theatrical release in the Telugu states, the film witnessed houseful shows in several locations where it was screened. However, the restricted number of theatres significantly affected its overall box-office performance.
Since the Malayalam version had already created a huge buzz through positive word of mouth, many Telugu audiences chose to watch the original version instead of waiting for the dubbed release. While the Telugu version couldn’t translate its popularity into strong collections, the film has emerged as one of the biggest Malayalam blockbusters of the year with an outstanding theatrical run.
For Nivin Pauly, the challenge now is to establish a stronger market in Telugu ahead of his upcoming pan-India film Vijayam, which is expected to target audiences across multiple languages.
