Akkineni’s young actor Akhil Akkineni and actress Bhagyashri Borse teamed up for director Murali Kishore Abbur’s emotional action drama Lenin. Released with good expectations, the film emerged as one of the biggest successes of Akhil’s career, delivering strong openings and impressive box-office performance.
Initially, there were doubts about whether Lenin could achieve the milestone of becoming a ₹100 crore grosser. However, the makers later announced that the film had crossed the mark, making it not only Akhil’s highest-grossing film but also his first ₹100 crore success.
Despite the makers’ ₹100 crore claim, the film’s collections have become a topic of debate among audiences online. Many are questioning the numbers, pointing out that the film’s theatrical run had reportedly slowed down after the release of Chennai Love Story nearly a week earlier.
The sudden release of a ₹100 crore poster has led to trolling and raised doubts among some viewers about the authenticity of the reported collections. The film, featuring music by Thaman and supporting roles played by Pramod, Sivaji, Brahmaji, Eswari Rao, Shatru, and others, was produced by King Nagarjuna and Surya Devara Naga Vamsi.
