Superstar Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 is enjoying a phenomenal run at the global box office, reportedly grossing ₹427 crore worldwide within just four days of its release. The film is also making a strong impact in the Telugu states, where the Telugu version is performing well despite being acquired for a high distribution price by Naga Vamsi.
According to the reported territory-wise figures, Jailer 2 has collected a share of ₹27.50 crore against a gross of ₹50.10 crore in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana over its first four days, marking an estimated 66% recovery of its ₹42 crore sale price, excluding GST.The Telugu states’ four-day share comprises ₹11.80 crore from Nizam, ₹1.85 crore from East Godavari, ₹1.28 crore from West Godavari, ₹2.08 crore from Guntur, ₹1.92 crore from Krishna, ₹1.12 crore from Nellore, ₹3.15 crore from Vizag and ₹4.30 crore from Ceeded. These figures add up to a total share of ₹27.50 crore and a gross of ₹50.10 crore.
The collections indicate a strong opening phase for the Telugu version, helping it recover a substantial portion of the distributor’s investment within the first four days. With its impressive worldwide gross and encouraging performance in the Telugu states, Jailer 2 is being hailed by its distributors as a genuine blockbuster.
Jailer 2 is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and music is scored by Anirudh Ravichander. Audience are celebrating the action, emotion and fun in the film. The film also stars SJ Suryah, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Vidya Balan, Hrithik Roshan in cameo role, Mithun Chakraborty, Mirnaa, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu and others in key roles.
