The buzz around Superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Dharman directed by Ashwath Marimuthu has intensified with reports that Energetic Star Ram Pothineni is in discussions for a crucial role. According to the latest industry reports, Ram is said to be considered for the role of Rajinikanth’s son-in-law, with his character potentially locking horns with the Superstar throughout the film.
If the talks materialise, this would mark Ram’s Tamil debut and give him an extended screen presence alongside Rajinikanth. The reported role is said to be far more substantial than a cameo, making the combination one of the film’s biggest attractions. The makers, however, are yet to officially confirm the casting.
The reported family setup becomes even more interesting with Raashii Khanna already part of Dharman. Ram and Raashii have previously been paired together in Shivam and Hyper, and their reunion could bring a familiar young-pair chemistry to the film. For Ram, the role would also offer a refreshing departure from his usual hero image, especially if he takes on a grey or antagonistic character opposite Rajinikanth.
Adding to the nostalgia is the return of the Rajinikanth–Simran combination. The two actors are reuniting after their memorable pairing in Petta, while Dharman brings them together once again in important roles. Anirudh is scoring music for Dharman. Ram Pothineni is busy with his debut directorial right now, tentatively titled RAPO 23 will showcase the actor in a new light.
