Venky Atluri, who is ready to score blockbuster with Vishwanth and Sons, appears to be exploring multiple interesting projects for his next ventures. The filmmaker had originally approached Suriya with a biopic script based on the founder of the Maruti car brand.
Suriya reportedly liked the concept, but the project could not move forward due to rights-related issues. The actor was also looking for a family-oriented film at the time, which led Atluri to look at other possibilities. The director is planning the project with Ajith Kumar.
After Vishwanath And Sons, Atluri is now developing a new script set against a police backdrop, which he has already narrated to Dhanush. The director said he wants to approach the project with complete precision, especially because Dhanush is also a writer-director and brings a strong creative perspective.
Venky Atluri is continuing to explore different genres, with a cop drama being one of the spaces he is currently interested in. Apart from the police drama, Atluri has expressed interest in making a children’s film inspired by the charm of Disney movies and Home Alone, a genre he feels is rarely explored in Indian cinema today.
He also hopes to collaborate with Nani in the future and is planning to revisit Lucky Baskhar with a sequel once he can develop the story properly in 2 years. With several ideas in different stages, Atluri’s upcoming slate looks set to continue his journey across varied genres.
