One of the biggest projects currently in Indian cinema is Raaka, the ambitious film directed by acclaimed Tamil filmmaker Atlee, starring Icon Star Allu Arjun and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles. The highly anticipated film also features actress Preity Mukhundhan, who recently impressed audiences with the blockbuster BLAST.
Preity, who was also seen in the Telugu film Kannappa, earned widespread recognition with BLAST. Speaking at a recent event, Atlee revealed that he had initially approached Preity for a role in his upcoming film. However, she was unable to come on board due to prior shooting commitments.
Atlee made this revelation while attending the pre-release event of Idhayam Murali. Praising the actress, he said, “Preity, I absolutely loved your dancing and acting. You are amazing. To be honest, I approached you for a role in my film, but you couldn’t adjust your dates because you were busy shooting Idhayam Murali. Your talent and dedication are truly on another level.”
The filmmaker further shared that after Preity was unable to join the project, the role was eventually offered to Femina George. Idhayam Murali stars Atharvaa in the lead role, alongside Kayadu Lohar and Fahadh Faasil in pivotal roles. The film is directed by Akash Bhaskaran.
