Samantha’s Maa Inti Bangaaram, which was released in theatres on June 19th has emerged as a strong performer at the box office, grossing around ₹35 crore worldwide and earning nearly ₹15 crore in distributor share during its opening weekend.
The film had already secured a comfortable financial position before release thanks to impressive non-theatrical business deals. With its theatrical rights valued at approximately ₹10 crore on an advance basis, the project entered theaters with minimal risk.
The movie has now comfortably surpassed expectations, putting it on track to achieve blockbuster status. Given its current momentum, trade circles believe it is heading toward a double blockbuster verdict, while an even bigger outcome remains a realistic possibility.
What surprised the industry the most was the film’s exceptional Sunday performance. Collections witnessed a significant jump, with theaters across multiple regions reporting occupancy levels close to 90 percent. Such a response is particularly noteworthy for a female-led film, making Maa Inti Bangaaram one of the most talked-about box-office success stories in recent times.
