The Sankranthi season has now turned into a hot cake. After Anil Ravipudi scored two back to back blockbusters for Sankranthi, everyone is now aiming to bring the films for Sankranthi. There is a strong belief that if a film releases during Sankranti, money will pour in. Because of this confidence, preparations for Sankranti 2027 have already begun.
It is already known that a film starring Chiranjeevi and directed by Bobby is set to release during Sankranti. Venkatesh and Anil Ravipudi’s film is also gearing up for a Pongal release. Balakrishna new film with Gopichand Mallineni is targeting Sankranti as well. Now, Nagarjuna has also entered the race with director Kalyan Krishna.
Annapurna Studios has officially announced that Nagarjuna’s film will release for Sankranti 2027, with a statement confirming a January 15 release. This announcement has further intensified the competition for Sankranti 2027. Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Balakrishna, and Venkatesh are all senior-generation heroes who have entertained audiences for generations.
They are contemporaries and long-time rivals. The fact that all of them are now aiming to release their films in the same season is truly surprising. In all these years of their careers, there has never been a situation like this. While there have been occasional clashes such as Chiranjeevi vs Balakrishna, Balakrishna vs Venkatesh, or Venkatesh vs Nagarjuna, they have never all arrived together in the same season.
How this will turn out is something we will witness during the Sankranti 2027 season. If all four of these senior heroes remain in the Sankranti race, it will be difficult for other heroes. Sharwanand and Teja Sajja are also planning films targeting Sankranti 2027. If these four senior stars are indeed in the competition, Sharwanand and Teja Sajja may have no choice but to step aside.
Not just them other heroes too may need to look for alternative release dates. There is also talk that Pawan Kalyan and Surender Reddy’s film could release during Sankranti. However, given such intense competition, there is a possibility that Pawan Kalyan’s film may not arrive during that season. There’s also Superstar Rajinikanth coming during Sankranthi 2027.
