When Anand Deverakonda and Vinod Anantoju announced their next project, expectations were huge. After the beautiful and heartwarming Middle Class Melodies, the duo surprised everyone by switching genres and attempting a thriller. The film’s teaser, unveiled recently, promises a truly theatrical-worthy experience.

However, Takshakudu is releasing directly on Netflix, which has disappointed many fans. Explaining the reason, Naga Vamsi said, “Takshakudu has huge potential, but due to the market constraints of Anand Deverakonda, Vinod Anantoju, and their combination, we couldn’t invest the extra budget that nearly tripled after the film went on floors.”

He further added, “While we were concerned about this, Netflix offered to make it an original production after being impressed with the story. We felt it was a win-win situation.”

Backed by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under the Sithara Entertainments banner, this Netflix original blends myth, mystery, and emotion with striking visual quality.

Adding to the film’s appeal is a strong supporting cast and a technically accomplished crew. Laapataa Ladies fame Nitanshi Goel plays the female lead, while Shyam Mohan known for his “JK” role in Premalu is reportedly seen in a crucial role.

Cinematographers Ankur C and Udit Khurrana bring a rich visual texture, while Midhun Mukundan of Garuda Gamana Vrishaba Vahana composes the music. With its atmospheric tone and storytelling style drawing comparisons to films like Tumbbad and Eega, Takshakudu stands out as one of Netflix’s most anticipated Telugu originals of 2026, set to stream in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam.
