“Coolie” is the much-awaited film starring superstar Rajinikanth, Bollywood star Aamir Khan, Tollywood’s King Nagarjuna, Kannada star Upendra and Malayalam star Soubin Sahir. The film releasing on August 14th.
The film is directed by sensational filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj, known for Kaithi, Master, Leo, Vikram, and several other blockbusters. The much-loved director reportedly charged a bomb for this project.
Lokesh Kanagaraj received a ₹50 crore paycheck for the film. Considering his massive popularity and the scale of the project, the remuneration is justified – though it remains a huge amount for a director.
He dedicated two years of effort to the film, and netizens believe the hefty fee is reasonable given the anticipation and scale involved. The Coolie trailer is expected to set social media on fire when it drops on August 2nd.
With this film, the director is expected to deliver Kollywood’s biggest blockbuster yet, with fans and the industry eyeing a ₹1000 crore target. Anirudh is composing the music for this film and Sun Pictures is producing it.
