Online betting apps have caused significant damage, with many individuals taking loans to fund their gambling habits, leading to increasing cases of financial distress and even suicides. A lot of portals are luring youth through ads and influencer promotions, despite the harm they cause.

These kinds of promotions have become common on Instagram, with influencers with millions of followers promoting them with fake narratives. TGSRTC Managing Director VC Sajjanar responded on this issue and urged the government to take action on all these influencers.

Recently, YouTuber Local Boy Nani was arrested by AP Police, and now a case is registered against famous YouTuber Harsha Sai. Cyberabad Police have registered a case against YouTuber Harsha Sai Bandaram for promoting betting apps, following criticism from VC Sajjanar. With the case on the influencer, who became famous by helping people and making videos on them, fans are not happy.

Cases have been registered against several social media influencers and TV actors for promoting betting apps. The Panjagutta police have filed cases against Imran Khan, Harsha Sai, Tasty Teja, Kiran Goud, Vishnu Priya, Anchor Shyamala, Ritu Choudhary, Bandaru Sheshayani Supreetha, Sudheer, Ajay, Sunny Yadav, Sandeep, and others. They have been booked under Sections 318(4) BNS, 3, 3(A), 4 TSGA, and 66D of the ITA Act-2008.
