In recent days, tensions have escalated between film producers and theater exhibitors, with the controversy particularly drawing attention to the release of Hari Hara Veera Mallu. The situation grew more serious when some individuals linked the theater bandh directly to the movie’s release.
This sparked concern from Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, who took the matter seriously, as did Cinematography Minister Durgesh. To address the issue, producer Allu Aravind convened a meeting yesterday, followed by another meeting called by Dil Raju today.
During the meeting, Dil Raju expressed frustration that some people falsely attributed the issue to a group of four individuals, including himself. Dilraju made it clear that no one attempted to halt Kalyan’s film and blamed the confusion on miscommunication, which even misled government officials.
He said, “No one can dare to stop Pawan Kalyan film.” He clarified lot of doubts to media and explained he has no part in it. Minister Durgesh personally contacted him, and Dil Raju explained that there was no theater bandh.
Dil Raju highlighted that both the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana governments play a vital role in supporting the film industry. He also said that In industry everyone is an individual, who thinks about his personal gain only.
He concluded by stressing the need for unity within the film industry. He shared how, as chamber president, he had met producers and received Kalyan’s full support, particularly in pushing for increased ticket rates. Although producers approached the government separately for ticket hike approvals, there was no collective strategy.
