Yuva Samrat Akkineni Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi’s highly anticipated movie Thandel released in theatres today. Directed by Chandoo Mondeti and presented by mega producer Allu Aravind, the film is produced by Bunny Vasu under the highly reputed Geetha Arts banner. Let’s see the Bheeshma Review;
Thandel is a pure and heartwarming love story with a touch of emotional patriotism. Karthik Theeda’s story was improved by Chandoo Mondeti, but it could’ve been better. After the passable first half, the film derails and ends up as an underwhelming watch. The impactful performances of Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi, who lived as Raju and Sathya, make it an entertaining watch. Sai Pallavi’s expressive performance as Satya is captivating, as she brings depth and authenticity to her role.
The film has good high moments, but the lengthy runtime makes it tiring. The Pakistan jail sequences tend to feel a bit overstretched, but the last 25 minutes (starting from the emotional version of “Bujji Thalli”) are truly impactful. These final moments highlight Naga Chaitanya’s best performance yet. The emotional weight of the film really lands in these scenes, making them unforgettable. The team beautifully conveyed the love and intimacy between the lovers with the brilliant scenes.
Cinematography by Shamdat is top-notch, enhancing the visual storytelling. Devi Sri Prasad steals the show with his impeccable music and score. The music isn’t just a backdrop – it drives the emotional core of the film. Totally, the film is a passable love story with strong performances.
