Superstar Rajinikanth has confirmed a sequel to the 1999 blockbuster Padayappa, titled Neelambari: Padayappa 2. Announced during the film’s 25th-anniversary re-release, this sequel will prominently feature the return of the iconic character Neelambari, played by Ramya Krishnan. The project is set to highlight the character’s legacy.
The film has a legacy of becoming.most celebrated commercial entertainer in both Telugu and Tamil. Released as Narasimha in Telugu, it became a sensation. Recently, Soundarya Rajinikanth has revealed that superstar Rajinikanth has completed the script work of Padayappa 2 – Narasimha
.She said, “The entire story of ‘Padayappa 2’ has already been written by the superstar himself. The story has been developed very well – Soundarya Rajinikanth. But, who will direct this film and when will it be released? It has not been decided yet.”
