The upcoming film Vishwambhara is shaping up as a key moment for evaluating the true box-office pull of Megastar Chiranjeevi. While his recent release Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu did exceptionally well commercially, a large part of its success came from strong direction, festive season timing, and a high-profile cameo rather than purely the Megastar’s solo draw.
Without those external boosts this time, the performance of Vishwambhara will offer a more direct measure of his current standalone appeal. Vishwambhara is a high-profile socio-fantasy project directed by Mallidi Vassishta and produced by UV Creations. The film features Chiranjeevi in the lead, supported by actors such as Trisha Krishnan, Kunal Kapoor, Ashika Ranganath, Isha Chawla and others.
World-class technicians like Oscar-winning composer MM Keeravani, cinematographer Chota K Naidu and production designer AS Prakash onboard. It’s being developed with significant visual effects work and aims to be a grand cinematic experience upon its release in summer 2026. Makers are planning to release the film by June end.
There are many doubts surrounding the film, especially since the VFX work has been heavily criticized. Additionally, during the success celebrations of Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, Megastar Chiranjeevi mentioned that the only films he truly liked after his re-entry were Khaidi No. 150, Waltair Veerayya, and Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu. He also admitted that the films which failed at the box office had worried him.
Notably, he did not mention Vishwambhara during the event, which has further intensified the doubts and speculation around the film.
