Malayalam actor Dulquer Salmaan enjoys significant popularity in the Telugu film industry as well. He recently scored a solid hit at the box office with the movie Lucky Baskhar. Directed by Venky Atluri, the film also performed well commercially.
It is known that Kamal Haasan initially wanted to cast Dulquer for a key role in Indian 2, which was eventually portrayed by Siddharth. However, due to date clashes or other reasons, Dulquer couldn’t take up the role.
He was then approached for Mani Ratnam’s Thug Life, to which he agreed, and the makers even made an official announcement. But as he was busy with Lucky Baskhar, he couldn’t join the shoot.
Interestingly, Dulquer ended up missing out on two major films that turned out to be huge box office disasters. What makes this even more notable is that Kamal Haasan played the lead in both movies. As a result, netizens are now calling him “Lucky Dulquer”.
